The join between the edging and the garter stitch base fabric isn’t quite as clean, but if I had not used a contrasting-color yarn, it would look just fine. The pick-up-but-do-not-knit edge, however, looks nearly identical on both the right side and the wrong side. There is a distinct ridge of the contrast color showing at the base of the ribbing. Move the yarn to the inside of the loom, straight up from the anchor peg and bring it around a peg in a circle to the inside of the loom again. Slide the slipknot on the anchor peg and gently tighten it. Starting with the last peg wrapped pull the bottom loop up and off of the peg. Steps to cast on with a circular loom: Tie a slipknot with a 5-6 inch tail. Wrap the yarn clockwise, loosely around each peg. I prefer the look of the pick-up-and-knit edging on the right side, but it’s not particularly attractive on the wrong side. Push your yarn to the bottom of each peg, all of the way around. Round looms are a bit more versatile than their rectangular counterparts, because you can knit in a circle or knit flat panels.
